Tracy Buckley
I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years. Before (and during!) that time, I was a runner and was starting to experience the aches and pains that go along with years of stress on my body-sore knees, tight hamstrings, and creaky joints. I went to my first vinyasa yoga class looking for a good workout that was easier on my body. That day, I left the studio feeling exhausted but invigorated. I was hooked! It wasn’t until my father was diagnosed Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease that I turned fully to yoga. My mat was the one place I wasn’t consumed with worry, sadness, and fear. For an entire class, I could breathe. How many others needed a place to quiet their minds and breathe? After my father’s death, it seemed the perfect time to offer such a space to others.
After years of practice, I became a certified vinyasa instructor and am so happy to share my love of yoga with others especially my husband and two daughters. They are just as excited to have this space-the girls want all kids yoga, all the time!

I have been practicing yoga since entering a kids yoga class in my native country of Scotland. I joined my mother and sister as a certified yoga instructor and am also a R.Y.T (registered yoga teacher). When returning to Scotland, I take part in yoga workshops at the yoga centers of Glasgow and Edinburgh. I come with an Iyengar background as well as studying in more recent years vinyasa and viniyoga. I enjoy the vast subject of yoga and spend much spare time at various yoga workshops to broaden my experience. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes while adapting the class to the individual. I am also available for individual, group private classes, and therapeutics at our location or yours.

I received my 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Certification from the Sacred Seeds program with Jacqui Bonwell and Jené Rossi. I am also Reiki I certified in energy healing. I started practicing yoga in 1997 in La Jolla, California to relieve stress from a challenging academic program. I continued with yoga and over the years have gained a growing love of the practice for the physical, mental and health benefits a yoga practice offers. I have been a student of a variety of yoga styles including Vinyasa, Hatha, and Kundalini. I draw from all of these practices in my yoga teaching. It is my mission to help others regain or maintain their health by sharing with them an achievable yoga practice they can incorporate in their own lives.

I am a 200 hour certified Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga Teacher and a certified Pretzel Kids Instructor. I received my 200 hours with Victoria Haffer of The Baba Siri Chand Yoga Center in Millis, MA. My journey with yoga first began several years ago when a friend invited me to attend a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class. I felt the benefits immediately and after enduring back surgery, my commitment to my yoga practice deepened. I have has been inspired by the knowledge of my teachers, the creativity of my fellow classmates, and the love of my family. After witnessing the benefits of yoga in myself, I felt compelled to share this peace with children and adults. I am First Aid, CPR and AED certified. I discovered yoga after routine gym workouts and running. My mind and body were exhausted, so I thought I needed a change. I had an old childhood friend who brought me to a hot yoga class about five years ago. I remember sitting in the hot and crowded room on a Saturday morning trying as hard as I could to keep up. The evening and the following day my body was pretty sore, so I thought this must be worthwhile! I kept going back to yoga, sometimes I wouldn’t go for a few months, but I always found my way back. Yoga has a funny way of doing that ;)
The more I went the more I noticed how it created balance in my life, and really helped me with my obsessive exercising. It cleared my mind and I always left feeling different and happier than when I walked into the class. It made me more aware of how my body felt and how to treat it with compassion. The more I practiced yoga the clearer everything got and I began to realize my true self.
After practicing for over four years, I completed a 200 hr certification in Vinyasa yoga in 2011.
I was born and raised and still live in Newton with my husband of two years and my Boston terrier.
I think the more you come to your mat the more balance will be created in all aspects of your life. So keep practicing!
